Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 released in China as a new competitor of the folding market. A couple of days ago, another competitor Samsung released Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5. In addition, Mix Fold 3 will bring more competition in the present market.
Although the folding phone market is led by Samsung, Xiaomi is a top competitor. Last year, Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 was the world’s thinnest folding phone. This upgrade is also slimmer than the predecessor.
Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 released
Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 released in the Chinese market with two colour variants, black and gold. There are three storage units to buy, with price. (US prices are converted.)

Xiaomi already started pre-orders at the time it debuted. Open sales will start from August 16. Unfortunately Xiaomi doesn’t say any single word about its global release.
Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 specifications
Let’s start with the design of Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 released in China. Which is 5.26 mm slim when unfolded and 10.89mm after folding it. Xioami has managed to set the motherboard vertically that’s why phone size is slim now. The fear of big size folding phones is getting treated.
Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 designs by a LTPO OLED panel which is 8.03 inch sized, 1,960 × 2,160px resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It also has Ultra Thin Glass (UTG), HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support. The secondary display size is 6.56 inches in an OLED panel, 2,560 nits peak brightness and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.
The rear panel features a quad camera setup, led by a 50MP primary camera of Sony IMX800 sensor with OIS support, a 12MP ultrawide also positioned. The two others are a 10MP telephoto lens with 3.2x zoom and a 10MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, both have OIS support. The front entitled a 20MP selfie camera. The primary camera is able to record video in 8K resolution with 24fps (frame per second).
Lastly it comes to the chip, Mix Fold 3 released with featuring Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, run on Android 13 OS with MIUI 14 out of the box. The storage section packs up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, ensuring a 4,800mAh capacity battery with 67W wired and 50W wireless charging system, advertised to get 100% charge in 40 minutes.
Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 released stereo speakers for better sound but doesn’t bring any 3.5mm headphone jack. That’s why the USB TYPE-C 3.2 port is the only option for wired earphones. The fingerprint sensor is positioned in side-mounted, features Wi-Fi 7 and barometer for temperature measurement.
