According to a recent report from South Korea’s Chosun Ilbo, it has been stated that both LG and Samsung are intending to commence the mass production of OLED display panels for the forthcoming iPad Pro models in February of 2024.
Apple is reportedly planning to introduce new iPad Pro models with OLED displays, an M3 chip, and an aluminum Magic Keyboard next year, as per Mark Gurman from Bloomberg.
However, the mass production of OLED displays is expected to begin only in February, making it unlikely for the new models to be launched in March. It is more probable that the new iPad Pro models will be announced at WWDC in June or later, although Apple’s plans are subject to change.
iPad Pro OLED display production
The current iPad Pro models are equipped the LCD display panels, sized 12.9 inches. To boost brightness and higher contrast ratio it uses mini-LED. It is known to all that there are a lot of rumors claiming every year to equip the OLED panel and that finally goes wrong.
But this rumor is looking close to finding the display panel to feature OLED. Because of the LG and Samsung mass production of iPad Pro OLED panels.
It is expected that the upcoming iPad Pro OLED panel will be thinner than the previous models. In this production lineup it will equip the next generation M3 chip while we have seen the M2 chip on the predecessor. It also expected an aluminum magic keyboard.
Next iPad Pro might bring a big change in specifications and performance. Additionally, an Apple pencil will be alive here. But the next iPad Air, iPad mini and entry-level iPad are expected to stay stuck with the LCD panel displays.
