iPhone 14 Pro & Pro Max production reduced, warns Apple

Apple announced that iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max’s production rates are decreasing due to the COVID situation in China. The situation pointed out when Black Friday is coming.

Foxconn is the largest iPhone assembler located in Zhengzhou. From many days COVID situations are increasing gradually. For this reason many workers were leaving the Foxconn campus. That negatively impacts on production rates.

According to Counterpoint Research, Foxconn is the supplier of 85% premium iPhone 14 Pro units and 80% of basic iPhone 14 models. Due to the COVID situation again, the Chinese government announced for lockdown. Alongside the Chinese govt ordered the people to stay home and not to go out, only for medical and essential reasons.

COVID and lockdown puts a high negative impact on iPhone production. This moment appointing additional workers seems pretty hard for Foxconn. It’s not the exact work time when the workers are fleeing from.

Probably we have to wait for more a few days, when the crisis will be solved. There was news that Apple will transfer iPhone production from China to India for assembling.
