On July 31, a hacker group, believed to be an Indian hacker group, threatened to attack Bangladesh. They said in the announcement that they will launch a simultaneous cyber attack on Bangladesh on the National Day of Mourning on August 15. A red alert has been officially issued in Bangladesh regarding this and everyone has been urged to take precautions
In response to this, Cyber 71, a famous private cyber security company in Bangladesh, said, “Earlier, we have punished many hacker groups including Indian hacker groups and have taken over many of their national websites, which were later returned on the basis of an apology. If there is a cyber attack in Bangladesh again, That would be devastating.” After 1-2 days cyber 71 removed their post from their verified Facebook page.
When asked how serious this cyber attack is, technician(IUT CSE -02) Ajimuddin Khan Sabbir told Bangladesh’s private TV channel 71, “Actually, the threat of cyber attacks is not to be taken lightly, we don’t know how powerful the attackers are, so we have to be on the alert”.
When asked how strong Bangladesh’s cyber security is, Sabbir said, “Bangladesh’s position in cyber security is above 50, Bangladesh is doing better day by day, but it is not enough because earlier we saw that hackers stole the information of birth certificate and nid card from the government website of Bangladesh. , earlier in 2016, hackers stole about one billion dollars from Bangladesh, so Bangladesh has to play a leading role in this regard.
